If you are not already aware, I will be closing Holistic Healthcare by the end of May at the latest, but with the likelihood of March being my last month. I really care for all of you and, to make the transition easier, I have been looking for massage therapists to recommend so you can continue your treatment. When going to visit any of these new therapists, please let them know you are a client of mine.
I'd love to know how your experiences were. Please feel free to share. If you would like a personal recommendation, please ask at your next appointment or send me an email or text.
1. Ballaura Wellness Spa
1017 4th Ave E
Olympia, WA 98506
If I had opened a wellness spa, it would have greatly resembled Ballaura. The owner, Nicole is an incredibly nice woman with a history of massage similar to mine. She’s no longer working as an LMT, but her spa is well-appointed with many skilled therapists to choose from. Ballaura offers all the modalities that I do including aromatherpy, pregnancy massage, and TMJ treatment plus a few modalities I don’t offer like cupping and gua sha. And, their prices are the same! They also take all the major insurances except Regence. Over the next month, I will be receiving services from all the therapists and will be able to give more detailed recommendations, but I am confident they will be able to accommodate your needs.
2. Ikaria Acupuncture - Kieron Anatu
1800 Cooper Point Rd SW
Olympia, WA 98502
Kieron is an incredibly gifted practitioner. Her sessions are 90 minutes long, and she prefers to do deep work combined with acupuncture. If you are interested in acupuncture (which I definitely recommend), or deep, therapeutic work please visit Kieron. I have recommended her to some of you personally. She knows you're coming, but please refer to me by name.
4. Jazmine Fox-Stern
2727 Westmoor Ct. SW Ste.100
Olympia, WA 98502 (in my office!)
Jazmine isn't a massage therapist, but she is an incredibly well-educated and competant Rolfer. I will be receiving a service from her the first week of March and will expand my review post-appointment. But, for now, I have had in-depth conversation about what she does and I am very impressed with her ability to communicate that information clearly and concisely. She knows what's going on. I've always wanted to try Rolfing, and I have a very good feeling that Jazmine is the one you want to experience it with. For a description of what Rolfing is, please visit her website or schedule an information session. The extra bonus? Besides helping you permanently adjust your posture, she's in my office!
5. Rebecca Noble
Out by Evergreen State College
I haven't talked to Rebecca about sending clients, so telling her you've seen me won't matter. I've only had two massages with her, but so far, she's my favorite massage therapist. Her style is very similar to mine. She's been a massage therapist for over 20 years and is in semi-retirement. I won't recommend her for regular treatment because of that, but if you get a chance, try for at least one massage.
6. Jen Marin
549 McPhee Rd SW
Olympia, WA 98502
Jen Marin has been practicing since 2004 and has a lot in common with me as far as how she communicates. I really like her. Her massage is much lighter than I personally prefer, but she is very knowledgable and personable. If you need lighter work or relaxation with a knowledgable background, she's your therapist. She prefers to do work with chronic pain and the nervous system. Her massage room is nice, but I'm not super excited about the McPhee House itself. The front door opens into a kitchen, the waiting room is small and a bit cramped, and the walls are thin (I didn't hear anything while I was there). Fortunately, Jen's hospitality more than makes up for it.
7. Mary Atkinson (TMJ)
Mary is the TMJ dysfunction guru. Her office is out of her beautiful house in Yelm. If that's not too much of a trek for you, she's worth it.
8. Kristen Rubis (Pregnancy)
Kristen has been a yoga teacher and massage therapist in Olympia for many years. Her website mostly focuses on her yoga and sound healing work, but she worked with pregnant women, doulas, and midwives at The Birth House for quite a few years. I've never had a pregnancy massage with her, but I hear good things.
I ran into this title on a pre-made marketing email and found it to be appropriate for this note to you.
Life happens, and sometimes it does in a way the we don't expect and are unprepared for. This is what has been going on for me the last 6 months.
For those of you unaware, in July I was diagnosed with Epstein Barr's virus and systemic Candida. This is not a death sentence, but it is a "death of my career" sentence. These illnesses cause chronic flu-like symptoms that make it difficult for me to work the way I have been the last 3 or so years. They were brought on by chronic, high stress, and will only go away if I change that environment.
As a bodyworker who spends all my time helping my clients manage their own stress, it would be hypocritical for me to ignore myself. Fortunately, in some way, I am physically unable to do so any longer.
I have talked to many of you of my dreams to become a doctor, and now that I am at this crossroad where my body won't do what I ask of it anymore, I must take the path toward my future that is full of health and well-being. When I am through school, I will continue to help all of you by heading research that will change the way our doctors and health insurance companies treat us. We deserve better. We deserve health and well-being.
I begin school in April. I plan on retiring by the end of May. As those months draw nearer I will refer you to another therapist in order for you to continue the good care of your bodies. I currently have a list of three massage therapists that will be good substitutes. I am looking for more, so that all of you have someone you can trust and like.
In the meantime, online booking has been turned off and I have cancelled all membership plans. I don't think it's fair to you to continue charging for my services in advance when there's a good chance I will have to cancel due to illness. I will maintain the service discount for everyone. I will send out a separate email to people in possession of gift cards to use them as soon as possible.
I am truly saddened by all of this. I care about all of you so much. I'd like to think that we have become friends and hope that we can stay in touch.
Please feel free to reach out and ask any questions. I am happy to answer them.

Spring has made us busy, too! We’re hiring, and we’re making changes to our schedule and pricing structure. We are also now offering Sweet Relief CBD cream for sale! For more information, read below.
The Future of Holistic Healthcare
As many of you know, I will be attending school in the fall to begin the long journey towards a Doctorate as a Nurse Practitioner. I’m very excited about this! I envision Holistic Healthcare evolving into a true wellness center during my time at school. I would like to offer many different kinds of preventative care services, which will require me to change my role in the business.
I have already changed my schedule to accommodate my fall school schedule, and I will continue to VERY gradually withdraw from hands on massage. But, don’t worry! I won’t leave anyone hanging.
That's right...we're hiring!
To accommodate these changes and the requests for greater scheduling flexibility, I will be hiring a new therapist! I intend to use much discernment choosing my new hire and will choose someone capable and compassionate. During this process I would love to hear any feedback from you about how the new therapist integrates into my business.
There will be opportunities for discounted massages when the new therapist is hired. Please let me know if you'd like to try them out!
Sweet Relief CBD Cream
I am very proud to announce that we are now offering Sweet Relief CBD Cream for sale. Sweet Relief is made locally by LaDena Stamets and has distinguished itself by being the very best CBD cream I have ever used. It has a light and creamy texture, a pleasant scent, and longlasting results for pain relief.
The ingredient list is clean and uses exceptionally powerful anti-inflammatory agents in specialized mushroom and herbal extracts including Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Arnica, and Cottonwood Bud Oil.
It comes in three oil blends (Mint, Lavender Lemongrass, and Orange Vanilla) and in a 2oz jar for $35 plus tax or a 4oz jar for $60 plus tax.
In honor of this incredible cream I have a created new service called the Sweet Relief Massage. The use of the cream throughout the whole session is so relaxing the service requires a ride home afterwards!
Beginning June 1st, the following price changes will take effect:
Thank you so much for your continued support as my business grows. I’m very excited for the future and recognize that I couldn’t follow my dreams if it weren’t for each and every one of you.
I would love to hear your thoughts throughout this process. Feel free to send me an email, give me a call, or hang back for a chat after your next service. Thank you for trusting me and allowing me the honor of serving you.
I hope your spring is filled with health and laughter,
